THE ARTS SOCIETY BASINGSTOKE

OUR VISION

THE BELIEF THAT THE ARTS HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO ENRICH PEOPLES’ LIVES IS AT THE HEART OF EVERYTHING WE DO. WE WANT TO BE THE MOST INCLUSIVE AND INFLUENTIAL ARTS SOCIETY.

The Arts Society was until 17 May 2017, known as NADFAS (the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies).

Since its foundation in 1968, it has grown to become a worldwide organisation, with around 385 local Societies in the UK, mainland Europe, and the Antipodes.

After 50 years, it was felt that the society needed to evolve to keep up with changing times in order to connect a wider range of people and communities to the arts, whilst still offering an experience that continues to be enriching, inclusive and influential. Hence, the rebranding of the visual identity and adoption of a shorter name, The Arts Society.

Welcome to The Arts Society Basingstoke

Founded in 1992, we are a member society of The Arts Society, just one, in a global network of 385 societies.

We are a lively group of people with a shared love of the arts, with inspiring monthly lectures given by renowned experts in their field. In addition, there are annual study day events, educational visits and cultural holidays. The Arts Society is a great way to learn, have fun, and importantly, make new and lasting friendships.

Whether you are new to the arts, or an expert in your field, being a member of The Arts Society is a truly enriching experience.
