Church Recording

This is an activity originally requested and supported by the Victoria and Albert Museum, and its purpose is to promote recognition and preservation of our rich artistic heritage in places of worship, by the accurate and detailed recording of all their contents, with accompanying photographs.

Completing a Church Record can take from two to four years, resulting in an illustrated document which is presented to the church, with copies for the V&A, County Records Office, the Church Buildings Council and English Heritage Archives; it will be the authoritative source of information on the church.

The Recording at the Church of St Leonard, Sherfield on Loddon, is now complete and the has been presented to the church.

The coordinator of this project is Pamela Darker. Should you wish to contact her, please ring 01256 882334 or email
