YOUNG ARTISTS' COMPETITION AND EXHIBITION 2017

This was a very successful exhibition.

CHILDREN'S ART WORKSHOP in February 2017

During the Spring half term, six Bdfas volunteers assisted children in a morning art activity at the Basingstoke Discovery Centre. Everyone had great fun creating a concertina fold-up book to take home.  Around 13 children were assisted in using printing, collage and craft techniques to make pictures based upon their favourite storybook. Pictures were then embellished with a variety of extras including, sequins, stickers, feathers and leaves.

BIG ART WORKSHOP 2016

A group of enthusiastic children between 4 -11 years old and several society volunteers, spent a very enjoyable morning at the Basingstoke Discovery Centre. With the help of a visiting artist,  they created a life-sized BFG sculpture, using recycled collage materials and textiles. The finished sculpture was then put up for public display for several months. Children were also assisted in making their own Roald Dahl themed puppet.
